PRINCESS ANNE HILLS

FALL 2006 BULLETIN

ANNUAL PICNIC

On Saturday 9 September our 20th Annual Picnic was held which by all accounts was a complete success; it was a beautiful afternoon with almost 100 residents in attendance enjoying good food, music and visiting with neighbors. Our sincere thanks to The Smiths, The Frys, Anne Plumlee, all the ladies who provided sweets, and to The Heischobers who always donate the beer.

NEIGHBORHOOD PRESERVATION

A clean, tidy and well kept community is a pleasure to behold.  How is the condition of your property?  is there debris in the front or back that should be disposed of?  For the benefit of our new arrivals items not picked up by the routine weekly pickup may require a “special” pickup.  Call 4274650 for information and scheduling.

PRINCESS ANNE HILLS DIRECTORY

A new updated directory will be available Jan ‘07.  New arrivals who wish to be included or to report existing errors should call John Salop at 428-2191 or Michelle Laborde at 425-6389, or email Michelle Laborde at michelle@earworks.com.

If you haven’t given Michelle your email address, please do so to receive emailed bulletins.  We would like to conserve resources, and reduce expense to the civic league and the time of volunteers who deliver them. A special thanks to Heike Walker and Fred Arnold who distribute our Civic League notices to all residents on a continuing basis.

PRINCESS ANNE HILLS CIVIC LEAGUE ANNUAL MEETING

The date of the Civic League Annual Meeting for ‘07 has been set for Sunday, Jan 28 at 3pm and will be held at the ARE, 67th St. & Atlantic Ave.  Issues pertinent to our community will be discussed and/or voted upon.  Your attendance is encouraged and welcomed.  Mark you calendars!

PRINCESS ANNE HILLS GARDEN CLUB

The Princess Anne Hills Garden Club is a small, informal group that gathers on the fourth Monday of each month for discussion, workshops and lectures.  Emphasis is on community involvement.  Dues are $20 per year, there is no commitment with membership, and is a great way to become further acquainted with your neighbors.  Please call Benham Brown at 428-0428 for more information.

NORTH VIRGINIA BEACH CIVIC LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP AND ANNUAL PARTY

All residents are encouraged to become members of the North Va Beach Civic League (NVBCL) as well as the Princess Anne Hills Civic League.  The NVBCL concerns itself with issues facing the entire North End which also affects each of us.  Princess Anne Hills residents are invited to attend the NVBCL Party on Sunday Oct. 29, 4-8 pm with music by The Tridents and a Brunswick Stew dinner, keg beer and cash bar.  Cost is $20 for Adults and $9 for children under age 9.  Please call Tammy Wilson at 491-8953 for information about membership in the NVBCL or about the party.

HOOLIGANS

Vandalism to 17 mailboxes has been reported on Susan Constant.  As always, any crime should be reported to the police.
