Fall 2017 BULLETIN

Dear Neighbors,

No Committee Reports at this time.

PAHCL 31st Community Picnic was well attended and it was great to see so many neighbors, old and new! Thank goodness Hurricane Irma kept her distance, and despite a few sprinkles, it turned out to be a beautiful and

breezy Fall afternoon. Thanks to everyone for coming and to all who helped organize. Next year we will make better efforts to “go green” for the picnic, using compostable plates and serving ware, and taking care to dispose of

waste properly with more recycling trash cans.

Directories: In addition to “going green” initiatives, it has been suggested that instead of printing and distributing a 2018 directory, we explore adding it to the website. This has been discussed before, but for security and

privacy purposes, our website does not allow us to do this without additional fees and assistance. However, for the time being, we think we have found a way around this by emailing the directory in PDF format. We would still

distribute directories to those who prefer to receive a hard copy.

NVBCL: The 100th Anniversary Celebration of the North End neighborhood was held on Friday, September 15th at the Princess Anne Country Club. It was a fun community event, and it was good to see so many of our PA Hills

neighbors there. The next General Meeting is Tuesday, October 17, 2017- 7:30 PM at the A.R.E. 67th St.

Princess Anne Hills Garden Club (PAHGC): Luncheon and first meeting of the year will be held at 11 am, September 25th at the home of Heike Walker. Please reply to Beth Kulas: phone- 348-9684 or if you plan to attend.  The garden club is open to all Princess Anne Hills residents. You don’t need to have a green thumb to enjoy socializing and attending some of the fun programs that are being planned for the year ahead. The PAHGC welcomes new neighbors and would love to see more involvement. Attendance is flexible, so come when your schedule permits. Meetings are generally held on the 4th Monday of the month, with email announcements for time, location, and any planned presentations. If you happen to know a neighbor who would enjoy attending but does not use email, a member will be glad to deliver a flyer with monthly meeting details in their mailbox. Additionally, the PAHGC Holiday Party is hosted in December by the members for the entire neighborhood to attend. This year’s party date and location has not yet been determined.

PEARL HOME:  If you have interest in learning more about Lynnhaven River Now and becoming a Pearl Home, please see the attached information and application (or see the Pearl Home page on the website).

Halloween: This year, falls on Tuesday, October 31st. The Ramos family has been kind and generous to host this neighbor-driven gathering for the past several years. It has been a fun tradition for the children we hope to

see continue if anyone has interest in hosting and/or organizing with a few families.

PAHCL DUES: If you still have not paid for 2017, please make checks payable to PAHCL and send your dues of $30 to Treasurer, Molly Ford- 424 Susan Constant Dr. Also, if you have interest in getting involved with the PAHCL, please let us know. Contact me directly, or anyone whom you wish to reach out to on the

Board of Directors. Additional contact information can be found on the website

Thank you, enjoy the Fall days ahead!

Best regards,
