All neighborhood events are communicated via email, with some events also communicated via paper invitations.  Please make sure the secretary has your email address for this and other neighborhood news! If you don’t have email, please let the secretary know and a paper delivery will be made to your mailbox.  Please reach the secretary at or find the phone number in the neighborhood directory.  If you have yet to receive a directory, please ask a neighbor for the secretary’s address and drop a note in his/her mailbox.

  1. -Neighborhood Picnic:  The annual neighborhood picnic is typically held the first Sunday after Labor Day at parcel A (an empty lot on Susan Constant owned by the neighborhood) for a nominal fee of $20 per civic league member families/$25 for nonmember families.  Guests are welcome for an additional fee. Menu is typically Pollards fried chicken, grilled burgers and dogs, baked beans, mac n cheese, and chips with water, lemonade, wine and beer drink options; desserts are welcomed contributions. Email and paper invites are distributed for details each year. 

  1. -Halloween: Each year a family hosts a pre-trick-or-treat gathering in their yard or street front at 5pm. Everyone brings an appetizer to share and their beverage(s) of choice.  The group sets out for trick-or-treating together around 6pm.  Details are distributed via email.

  1. -Annual Holiday Party:  The annual Holiday Party is a fully catered event usually the first Sunday in December and typically in a neighbor’s home. Costs is usually $30/pp,  Date and location TBD. Email and paper invites are distributed with details.

  1. -Annual Meeting:  Usually the first Sunday after the Super Bowl in January at 3pm.  There is usually a speaker followed by the nomination and election of officers for the upcoming year, and discussion of pertinent issues for the neighborhood.  Light refreshments are served with a duration of about 90 minutes.  Details are communicated via email.

- Neptune Weekend

As part of this annual locals celebration at the oceanfront, the Sunday of that weekend is the Sandman Triathlon held from 6am-10:30am between 24th and 83rd streets. Northbound lanes are closed, officers help get you through intersections to southbound lanes.


2016 Annual Christmas Party - this year we’re trying something new by having the party at Bella Monte on Laskin Road, Sunday December 4, 7pm. $30/pp.  Of course the food will be YUM! Please submit your reservation by check payable to the PAHGL to Lori Dabul, 472 Goodspeed Rd by December 1st.  Bella Monte is usually closed on Sundays and is opening its doors privately for our party.  Always a lovely evening!

2017 Annual Meeting - Sunday, February 12, 2017 at A.R.E. 67th St. Presentation begins at 2:30pm with Speaker, Mr. Thomas Quattlebaum, a Sea Rise Fellow with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.  Meeting to elect 2017 officers and discuss pertinent business to follow presentation at 3pm.
